Please give me the complete details of getting admission in Kendriya Vidyalaya School like Documents, age limit, Category, Neighborhood or Resident Proof etc.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission Criteria

Eligibility Criteria & Age:

  • Minimum age for Class I, 5 years and a maximum of 7 years

  • Minimum age for Class II, 6 years and a maximum of 8 years
  • Minimum age for Class III, 7 years and a maximum of 9 years
  • Minimum age for Class IV, 8 years and a maximum of 10 years
  • Minimum age for Class V, 9 years and maximum 11 years
  • Minimum age for Class VI, 10 years and a maximum 12 years
  • Minimum age for Class VII, 11 years and maximum 13
  • Minimum age for Class VIII, 12 years and a maximum of 14 years
  • Minimum age for Class IX, 13 years and maximum 15 years
  • Minimum age for Class X, 14 years and maximum 16 years

Age Relaxation:

  • There will be age relaxation to those who belong to the PH category. They can enjoy 2 years age relaxation
  • There is no age limit for class IX candidates in the case child is seeking admission to X
  • There is no age limit for class XII candidates, in case, there is no break in the regular study.
Age Relaxation
  • 5 per cent seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste candidates
  • 15 per cent seats are reserved for SC category candidates
  • 3 per cent of seats are reserved for differently-abled category candidates.
  • 25 percent of seats are reserved for student belonging to EWS category candidates.

  • There, press Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission Form 2022 link
  • Select the class
  • Fill the application form along with valid details
  • Then upload photo & signature
  • Click on submission
  • Make sure to take the printout of the application form
  • Ensure to attach required documents
  • Then submit to the campus of Kendriya Vidyalaya

You need to read below point for 1st to 12th class admission require documents for Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission 2022

For Class I:

Age proof certificate or birth certificate which is only and only issued by the authority to register births

For Other Classes:

  • The date of birth will be accepted along with the recorded in the transfer certificate which is issued by the school recognized by the State Education Department.
  • There will be the return of the original Date of Birth to the parent after verification is done.
  • Admissions till Class VIII will be granted with no school transfer certificate which is provided to the child eligible and the birth certificate issued by a Government body or it may be the affidavit.
  • There will be the availability of the certificate of relationship for grandchildren of the Honorable Members of Parliament, PSU Employees and KVS employees.
  • Also, ST/EWS/ SC/OBC and BPL categories candidates need to produce the required certificate issued by the state or even by the union government.
  • Handicapped or physically challenged candidates need to produce the certificate from a civil surgeon or can be by the rehabilitation centre.
  • Make sure to provide the certificate of retirement for uniformed Defense personnel if required
  • Proof of Residence is a must

Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission Process:

 For Class I:

  • From the available seats of fresh admission, there will be the availability of 15 percent for SC category candidates and 7.5 % will be reserved for SC/ST category candidates.
  • The admission for the class I will be divided into two phases.
  • In case of shortfall in the seats which are reserved for SC and ST category candidates, if any of them be admitted SC/ST applicants.

Neighbourhood or Resident Proof:

  • Proof of residence is mandatory to produce by all applicants. However, if you fail to provide residence proof, admission will not be denied at all.
  • A self-declaration need to be produced by the parent which is all about distance is also accepted to this effect.
  • For the purpose of monitoring a system of Draw of Lots for Class I, every Kendriya Vidyalaya will create a committee.
  • The same would go for other classes wherever such stage comes up when candidates of a specific category or having the same number of transfers can’t be managed against the number of seats available.

For Class II to Class VIII:

  • Admission test will not take place from classes II to VIII.
  • The admission will be granted based on the Priority category system
  • There will be a lottery system in each category comprises of single girl child quota. (Class VI Onwards), in case the number of candidates more than the number of available seats

For Class IX:

  • Admission will be granted in the proper sequence of priority categories, as per the merit.
  • For seeking admission to Class IX, there will be a commencement of admission test and then a merit list will be prepared for every category of the priority separately.

For Class XI:

  • Admission to Class XII in various streams such as Humanities, Commerce as well as Science will be based on the merit list.
  • The merit list will also be prepared as the CGPA produced by the student in Class X.
  • The class strength will be 40 per stream.

For Class 10 & 12:

  • In order to seek admission to class 10 and 12 in Kendriya Vidyalaya other students who are not from KV will be entertained subject as per the availability of vacancies. In case, if the average strength in class 10 or 12 is less than 40, then Deputy Commissioner of the Region concerned KVs will be considered for admission to classes10 & 12.

This May Change in The Following Situations:

  • For class X, the candidate must have acquired not less than 6.5 CGPA in class IX.
  • For class XII, the candidate must have acquired not less than 55% marks in class XI examination.
  • The candidate must be in the same course of studies which is in the CBSE affiliated school.
  • The combination of subjects selected by the candidate should be easily available in Kendriya Vidyalayas.

KV Admission Reservation of Seats:

Economically weaker section of

Society or EWS  25%

Scheduled Caste or SC- 15%

Scheduled Tribe or ST- 7.5%

Differently Abled Children 3%
